Ontario: Re-opening of LTCQ to LT Absolute Plus Applications
There were several procedural adjustments to accommodate the COVID-19 lockdown. The Director of Titles on June 15 released a statement regarding notices relating to Applications for Land Titles Absolute Plus (“LT Absolute Notices”).
It was ordered that any applications for LT Absolute Notices that would result in an objection period that would expire during the lockdown would remain. Therefore, any LT Absolute Notices issued after February 14 have effectively stayed, until now.
Effective on July 2, the Land Registry Office is going to start processing all applications for Land Titles Absolute Plus (in chronological order).
Any owner who has received an LT Absolute notice and wants to object, should do so on or before the later of:
July 1, 2020; or
30 days after the effective date of the LT Absolute Notice.
